Enemy Territory Quake Wars Viral Campaign

How do you reach an audience of gamers all over the world to market a video game about aliens are who are nourished, fueled and lubricated by a viscous liquid known as Stroyent, consisting of processed corpses of their human victims? Create a fake packaged-goods campaign for the Stroyent.

We seeded "commercials" for Stroyent to sites such as IGN, Gamespot, Break, Facebook and of course YouTube. All videos led viewers back to our microsite, Stroyent.com where they could download cool banners, buy t-shirts, learn more about the human goo and the game it was featured in. In the end, nearly a million viewers experienced the campaign. Gamers blew up message boards and forums, and loved the commercials enough to call our 1-800 number, where operators were standing by, 9am-5pm Standard Strogg Time.
